Service is an important part of being an American Heritage Girl, it's even in our Oath! Matthew 5:16 says, "In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven." Our prayer is that through our service, we may make a difference in the lives of many.
Not only does it help those around us, but service also helps build our character. Service is one way that we can show our love to others. Throughout the scriptures we learn of the need to serve - "A new command I give to you: love one another as I have loved you, so you must love one another." John 13:34.
H.U.G.S, or Heritage Girls United Giving Service is the service arm of AHG. Girls from around the country participate in service program as part of HUGS. Just last year AHG girls gave over 99,000 hours of service.
We hope that the Servant's Circle will give you a place to share how service has built your character, share ideas on how to show God's love in practical ways throughout your family, community and country and be inspired by other's stories of serving.
