Dear Friends,

I’m excited about this new adventure with Compassion International! As an American Heritage Girls Troop Leader, I know you have a heart for God’s children. And how I feel God is calling us to offer hope to children all over the world.

This fall, I would like to call on each Troop to sponsor a Compassion child from a developing country. Sponsorship is such a blessing. It allows your Troop to provide life-changing assistance to a child living in poverty. Over time, your girls also will build a special relationship with your sponsored child through letters, photos and drawings. And to help teach our girls about servant leadership, be watching for opportunities for special missions trips with Compassion!

I’ve been involved with Compassion for four years and I know what a difference this ministry makes. Compassion partners with churches in developing countries to share the hope of Jesus with children in desperate need. The ministry takes a long-term, holistic approach, helping children spiritually and physically so they can grow into fulfilled Christian adults. What a perfect match for American Heritage Girls!

You will love every minute of this amazing journey. I hope you will pray about sponsoring a child on your own, too. I’m looking forward to seeing how God will use you — and your Troop — to help transform a child’s life!

What can I start doing now?                                         

Pray!                                      Begin praying now for the child you will be matched with. Pray that God sends 
                                                   you just the right child, who needs your love and encouragement.

Get creative.                     Start thinking about ways your Troop can raise funds to support your sponsored
                                                   child.
